How to keep your audience interested

As facilitators we often want to help people find answers. As facilitators of training our role can often be a more directive process.

As business owners, the focus shifts. As marketing expert, Peter Butler says, our role is to educate, engage and entertain.

My sense is that we probably have some good ideas on the education side of the equation. We’re good at providing links to articles, posts and the occasional newsletter.

In my other life in the Facilitators Inner Circle, I took on Peter’s challenge to try and do all three roles. In all honesty I think we managed to engage and entertain. The education is for you to think about:

  • How you could use a tool like this;
  • Who it would be most appropriate for; and
  • What would be the best timing for its release

Looking forward to your thoughts…
