Let’s jump in and support Movember
G’day folks – it’s time to support Movember!
I try not to be too needy and rarely ask you for anything (just to occasionally laugh at my jokes!)
But now I’m on to the serious subject of Movember.
It’s all about awareness and supporting blokes to be smart about their health.
No doubt you have you own stories about fellas close to you that have left the building far too soon.
For me it was my Dad, Laurie, who was ravaged by Alzheimers, which, frankly just sucks.
Our cousin Mark took his own life, and one of my best mates Pete died suddenly at the age of 54.
Think about this: globally, men die 6 years earlier than women. To make it worse, the reasons are largely preventable.
In Australia, 3 out of 4 suicides are men.
1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer before 85.
And testicular cancer is the most common cancer among young men.
Pretty shocking, right?
That’s why I’m doing Movember this year: they’re hell-bent on changing the face of men’s health and so am I.
The money I raise this Movember will help fund life-changing mental health programs, groundbreaking research and scientific breakthroughs for cancer treatments.
On the bright side, there’s lots of us still kicking around, loving everything that life gives us.
So let’s run with that and jump on board to support my running 60km during Movember.
Just email me when you have made a donation and you’ll receive 2 x 30min coaching sessions covering team development, stakeholder engagement or facilitation (valued at $500.00).
PS – progress to date, as of 20th #Movember
PPS – I’ll match all donations made
Thanks,
Andrew
